Target group
: Students of Std IX to Graduation
|
|
|
|
The
objective of the program is to identify the career best suited
for the student based on psychological testing. The various
factors that influence career decisions like, aptitude, interest,
personality, intelligence, family background, academic potential,
parents' aspirations etc., are taken into consideration while
making a final recommendation.
|
|
|
|
The Career Planning Program would
be conducted in two stages:
|
|
|
|
Ø Stage One:
|
|
Pre Testing Counselling (10-15min per student) - An attempt to understand the aspirations,
interests etc of the student. Individual sessions will
he held for each student.
|
|
|
|
Testing - A two
and half hour test that aims to understand the aptitude, intelligence
and the orientations of the student. The answers marked by
the students are analysed by counsellors and aided by computer-based
tools. The final reports are generated within 10-15 days depending
upon the number of students and the test administered.

|
|
Ø
Stage Two:
|
|
Post Testing Counselling (30 min per student) - The findings and analysis of the test will be presented
to the student and the parent in the form of a "Career
Directory". The career plan shall be discussed individually
and final recommendation on the career path will be made.
|
|
|
|
The "Career Directory" shall have the
following;

about the abilities and suggestions to improve and use them.

Guidance (Matching the students profile with different careers
and doing a best fit analysis)

Orientation Program

|
The objective of
the program is to make students aware of the available opportunities
and provide an insight into careers of interest.

This program comprises
of one Curtain Raiser Session followed by Career
Focus Sessions
|
|
Ø
During the "Curtain
Raiser Session" the following aspects shall be touched

tenth - Basic Streams

twelfth and even graduation leading to the particular career

The subsequent
sessions shall deal with one career per session. Each "Career
Focus Session" shall include:

at most careers. The career workshops present a good mix of
games, role-plays, discussions and lectures so as to enable
learning in an open and interactive atmosphere.
